Technology
Roma State College aims to
provide a means for students to develop as independent, reflective, inquiry
driven learners in an ever-changing world through a creative, connected, and
rigorous real-world curriculum.
Computers have been in classrooms for many years and over the past ten
years the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) has grown within
the classroom. Teachers as life-long learners continue to focus on curriculum
and balance their pedagogical skills to best use ICT in an educationally
purposeful way.
Technology facilitates the creation and sharing
of knowledge. It provides the extensive ability to share information
locally and globally. By utilising virtual classrooms and online learning
environments, students can research, collaborate, present, create, refine and represent knowledge in contemporary and meaningful ways. Access to1:1
technology allows students to transition seamlessly from learning at school to home, and
in between. It provides opportunities for students to be challenged by tasks
that were once inconceivable; truly transforming learning and preparing
students to be the innovators, entrepreneurs and digital leaders of
tomorrow.
