Roma State College operates a Student Resource Scheme (SRS) to assist parents in the provision of some resources. The Student Resource Scheme has been implemented in this school to ensure that all students have the necessary resources to support their educational requirements. It is also intended as a convenience to parents/caregivers to provide a more economical option to purchasing new textbooks, resources and consumables each year. Contribution to the scheme is voluntary.

Parents/caregivers are under no obligation to join, however, they will need to provide all necessary textbooks and pay for resources for their students if they elect not to join the scheme. A breakup of resources required for individual students is available on request.

The Student resource scheme operates under the policy and guidelines of the Queensland Department of Education. The Roma State College Parents and Citizens' Association supports and authorises the Student resource scheme.

How do I participate in the Scheme?

Parents wishing to take advantage of the resources and services provided by the scheme sign a Participation Agreement Form and pay an annual flat fee. Additional fees may be payable in high-consumable subjects. Students participating in instrumental music are required to pay an additional set fee. Parents experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact the school office to discuss a range payment options that are available.

What is not included?

The scheme does not cover all students' personal requisites such as stationery, writing materials and other consumable materials. Resources not covered under the Student resource scheme are included on the stationery/textbook list for each year level which is issued each year in Term 4.  Items on these lists will need to be purchased by parents/caregivers.

What happens if my student transfers mid-year?

The Textbook and Resource Allowance assists parents/caregivers to offset textbook and resource costs and is paid to the school. Students transferring to another school during the year will receive a pro-rata refund of the Textbook Resource Allowance and any Student resource scheme fees paid. A deduction will be made for the study planner and any resources not returned. Students transferring in to the school will be invoiced on a pro-rata basis. To ensure consistency among schools, the pro-rata refunds and payments are based on a 40-week school year.

Roma State College strongly recommends parents take the opportunity to participate in the college's SRS.
