Junior classes

At Roma State College, Junior Campus, teaching and learning is based on all the subjects of the Australian Curriculum.  Students are taught this curriculum through the 11 characteristics of Age Appropriate Pedagogies - active, agentic, collaborative, creative, explicit, language rich and dialogic, learner focused, narrative, playful, responsive and scaffolded.  Roma State College Junior Campus was one of just 15 schools from the Darling Downs South West Region, and one of just 115 Queensland schools across the state, to be selected for the Age Appropriate Pedagogies Project, led by Griffith University.  Our curriculum aims to provide a range and balance of approaches that cater for students in the Early Childhood years.
We also offer a number of extra curricula activities throughout the year including:
·         An intensive swimming program
·         Fun run
·         Athletics Carnival
·         Under 8’s Day
·         ICAS Competitions
·         Eisteddfod
·         Choir
·         Arts Councils
