Year 10 Camp at Fairbairn Dam

In the last week of Term Two, the Year 10 students with Mr Roz, Ms Mallet and Ms Cross went to camp at Fairbairn Dam. The week started off with challenge activities where students were pushed outside of their comfort zone to ensure their team conquered the challenge whether it was army drills, brain teasers or physical challenges.
Rain tried to dampen the group’s spirit but all it did was cancel raft building. Instead of building a raft students were taught how to build catapults! These catapults were then successfully used to inflict pain on their teachers by flinging tennis balls at speed. After too much fun at the catapult arena it was off to high ropes. The high ropes course at Fairbairn Dam was more difficult than at previous camps and relied on group support for safety. As always, this wonderful cohort succeeded outside of their comfort zone and everyone had a great time.
The week ended with a competitive game of ‘Minute to Win It’ and canoeing. All three teachers were impressed with the group’s great behaviour, positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
