100km Club Junior Campus

We are in week 4 of our 100 km club.  We are so excited to have approximately 100 students every Wednesday and Friday morning braving the chilly winds trying to clock up their kilometres around the oval. Each week students are awarded for every 5km they achieve. So far we have students who have already reached 25km. The total laps students have reached is an amazing 1600km                    km so far. The year 3’s are putting in an amazing effort contributing to                        984km overall.
Parents are also encouraged to come along and join in. Every parent who participates goes into a lucky draw for a coffee voucher. Vouchers have kindly been donated by Café 54, and Bakeorama. The overall winner at the end of the term receives a family movie pass. This has been kindly donated by a local family. Each day there are also lucky door prizes such as gotchas and other prizes.
Here are some beneficial reasons why we think you should encourage your child to participate.
  1. For health benefits, children aged 5-12 years should accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity every day.
  2. Children’s physical activity should include a variety of aerobic activities, including some vigorous intensity activity.
  3. On at least three days per week, children should engage in activities that strengthen muscle and bone.
  4. Its loads of FUN, that gets students brains switched on.
If you would love to be a part of this energizing morning activity come along to the Campus oval every Wednesday and Friday morning at 8:15am.
